KPIs in Action

Setting the right KPIs for your organization provides visibility in the core areas of your business, that if failed, the business would suffer, as well as accountability for the teams who oversee that area of the business.  

 

Visibility: KPIs provide clear metrics that illustrate performance levels. This transparency allows all stakeholders, from executives to team members, to understand how the organization is performing against its goals.

 

Accountability: The regular assessment of KPIs creates a framework for ongoing evaluation. When performance is reviewed frequently, it encourages employees to stay on track and take corrective actions when necessary.  We all need something motivating us to make the most of our working hours and perform at the highest level.

 

KPIs, by way of a 1–2-page dashboard, are a valuable tool to make sure you’re on track. However, they need to be simple & measurable. Measurable KPIs allow for consistent monitoring and comparison of performance and there should be clear understanding of where the data for the KPI comes from.  The KPI link is a KPI dashboard I produced for a client after interviewing each department head to determine what they considered a valuable measure.
